This is a list of every piece of bodywear in the Golden Sun series that the games categorize as "Armor". Mechanically, in Golden Sun and The Lost Age, they are distinguished from other armor types by which Adepts can equip them: the "warrior-style" Adepts Isaac and Garet in the first game, alongside Felix and Piers in the second game. None of these four Adepts can wear Robes, which all four of the "caster-style" Adepts can wear; on the other hand, all eight Adepts in the GBA series can wear Clothing.

In Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, Armor can be worn by Matthew, Tyrell, and Eoleo, the three most "warrior-like" Adepts. All Armor pieces featured in the game return from prior installments.

Introduced in Golden Sun

Leather Armor: Adds 12 Defense. A common body piece purchased for 240 coins at Bilibin (and then Imil and Kolima Village) in Golden Sun and at Alhafra (and then Garoh) in The Lost Age. Sells for 180 coins.
• In Dark Dawn, it is purchased at Harapa (and then Ayuthay).

Psynergy Armor: Adds 21 Defense and 20 maximum Psynergy Points. A "common" body piece that is only found in a chest in a hidden room early in Mercury Lighthouse in Golden Sun. Can be purchased for 1,000 coins at Mikasalla in The Lost Age. Sells for 750 coins.
• In Dark Dawn, it is purchased at Passaj once the Sol Mask has been used to revive the Alchemy Forge. Becomes permanently unavailable once you take off from Passaj for the Clouds of Passaj.

Chain Mail: Adds 25 Defense. A common body piece purchased for 2,000 coins at Altin (and then Kalay) in Golden Sun and at Kibombo in The Lost Age. Is also part of Piers' starting equipment in The Lost Age. Sells for 1,500 coins.
• In Dark Dawn, it is purchased at Te Rya Village, making this permanently unavailable once Arangoa Prelude is requested.

Armored Shell: Adds 30 Defense. A common body piece purchased for 3,600 coins at Tolbi in Golden Sun and at Apojii Islands in The Lost Age. Sells for 2,700 coins.
• In Dark Dawn, it is purchased at Belinsk (and then Port Rago and Champa Camp).

Spirit Armor: Adds 32 Defense and 15 to all Resistances (Venus, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter). An Artifact body piece that is one of the prizes randomly won by tossing a Lucky Medal into the Lucky Medal Fountain in Tolbi. Sells for 3,000 coins.

Plate Mail: Adds 33 Defense. A common body piece purchased for 4,400 coins at Lunpa in Golden Sun and at Champa in The Lost Age. Sells for 3,300 coins.
• In Dark Dawn, it is purchased at Saha Town, making this permanently unavailable once Arangoa Prelude is requested.

Steel Armor: Adds 36 Defense. A common body piece purchased for 4,900 coins at Lalivero in Golden Sun and at Contigo in The Lost Age. If a Gold Password is not being used, this will be part of Isaac and Garet's starting equipment following the Reunion. Sells for 3,675 coins.
• In Dark Dawn, it is purchased at Harun Village, Yamata City, and Tonfon.

Spiked Armor: Adds 34 Defense and 10 Attack. An Artifact body piece that drops from Chimera Mages in Babi Lighthouse, Tunnel Ruins, and the later portion of Venus Lighthouse at a 1/64 chance (or 1/16 if slain using an offensive Mercury Djinni). Sells for 10,500 coins.
• In Dark Dawn, it is found in a chest in Craggy Peak Ruins, in the hall leading to the Aquarius puzzle room.

Asura's Armor: Adds 42 Defense, 5 Attack, and 8 HP recovered at the end of each turn. An Artifact body piece found in a chest connected to the east path of Tunnel Ruins, requiring Reveal to open. Sells for 11,250 coins.
• In Dark Dawn, it is found in a chest in Lonely Island Ruins.

Dragon Scales: Adds 44 Defense, 30 Mercury Resistance, and 30 Mars Resistance. An Artifact body piece found in a chest hidden behind a sandfall in Venus Lighthouse. Sells for 12,750 coins.
• In Dark Dawn, its name is changed to "Dragon Mail" (despite no relation to the other Dragon Mail listed below). It is found in a chest in Warrior's Hill.

Demon Mail: Adds 50 Defense but removes -10 Jupiter Resistance. An Artifact body piece found in a chest at the Pirate Ship in Crossbone Isle as the prize for defeating Deadbeard. Sells for 12,750 coins.
• In Dark Dawn, it is found in a chest in the Dark Dawn incarnation of Crossbone Isle.

Introduced in The Lost Age

Ixion Mail: Adds 26 Defense, 20 Mercury Resistance, and 20 Jupiter Resistance. An Artifact body piece found in a chest in Alhafran Cave, which can first be reached after defeating Briggs and giving the Large Bread to a hungry child in Alhafra. (This is removed as a requirement to enter the cave once the ship leaves the port later in the game.) Sells for 975 coins.
• In Dark Dawn, it is found in a chest in the Ouroboros dungeon.

Planet Armor: Adds 36 Defense and 10 to all Elemental Power values (Venus, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter). An Artifact body piece that is one of the random outcomes (with 20% probability) of bringing a Star Dust to the Blacksmith in Yallam, which costs 4,800 coins to then buy. Sells for 3,600 coins.
• In Dark Dawn, it is found in a chest in Port Rago Docks (reached by taking Port Rago Canal), making this permanently unavailable once Arangoa Prelude is requested.

Phantasmal Mail: Adds 38 Defense and 7 Luck, and can be Used during battle to attempt to inflict Delusion on up to three enemies. An Artifact body piece that is found in a chest in Izumo Ruins, which can only be explored using the Sand Psynergy from Gaia Rock. Sells for 4,350 coins; if its Use function is broken, it will cost 1,450 coins to repair, and the item will sell for 2,900 coins until then.

Erebus Armor: Adds 43 Defense and 6 HP recovered at the end of each turn. An Artifact body piece that is one of the prizes randomly won by tossing a Lucky Medal into the Lucky Medal Fountain in Lemuria. Sells for 6,750 coins.

Dragon Mail: Adds 44 Defense, 15 Mercury Resistance, and 15 Mars Resistance. An Artifact body piece that is one of the random outcomes (with 20% probability) of bringing a Dragon Skin to the Blacksmith in Yallam, which costs 9,700 coins to then buy. Sells for 7,275 coins.

Chronos Mail: Adds 47 Defense and 20 HP. An Artifact body piece that is one of the random outcomes (with 30% probability) of bringing a Golem Core to the Blacksmith in Yallam, which costs 13,100 coins to then buy. Sells for 9,825 coins.
• In Dark Dawn, it drops from Grislies in Snowdrift Shrine at a 1/128 chance (or 1/32 if slain if using an offensive Mars Djinni).

Stealth Armor: Adds 48 Defense but removes -10 Venus Resistance. A Cursed Artifact body piece that is one of the random outcomes (with 30% probability) of bringing a Dark Matter to the Blacksmith in Yallam, which costs 14,000 coins to then buy. Sells for 10,500 coins.

Xylion Armor: Adds 50 Defense and 12 Attack. An Artifact body piece that is one of the random outcomes (with 20% probability) of bringing an Orihalcon to the Blacksmith in Yallam, which costs 22,500 coins to then buy. Sells for 16,875 coins.
• In Dark Dawn, it is one of the random outcomes of bringing an Orihalcon to the Blacksmith in Champa, which is crafted for free.

Valkyrie Mail: Adds 53 Defense and 20% to Unleash rate. An Artifact body piece that is found in a chest in the lower portion of Mars Lighthouse. Sells for 19,125 coins.
