A Weasel's Claw (かまいたちのつめ, Kamaitachi no tsume?, lit. Wind Weasel's Claw) is a consumable item in the Golden Sun series. Like most consumable items, each party member can hold up to 30 weasel claws in a single inventory slot. When used, a weasel's claw deals Jupiter-based damage to multiple enemies with visual effects resembling the Sonic Slash Psynergy. Weasel's claws cannot be bought, but they can be sold for 30 coins each.

Locations

Golden Sun Weasel's Claws

In the original Golden Sun game, weasel's claws are dropped by Vile Dirges and Creepers. Also, the Tornado Lizards of Suhalla Desert have a very high chance of dropping a weasel's claw upon defeat.

The Lost Age Weasel's Claws

In Golden Sun: The Lost Age, weasel's claws are dropped by Dire Wolves, Momongas, Vile Dirges, Creepers, Wolfkins, and Wyvern Chicks.

Dark Dawn Weasel's Claws

In Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, weasel's claws are dropped by Amazes, Dire Wolves, Momongas, and Wolfkins. Once the Grave Eclipse begins, weasel's claws can also be one from Dark Scuttlers, Curse Scuttlers, Death Scuttlers, and Bone Gnawers.

Weasel's claws can also be found in the following locations:

  • A jar on a cliff overlooking Port Rago's docks contains a weasel's claw.

Cultural References

Kamaitachi is a Japanese yōkai demon that takes the form of a weasel riding in a whirlwind or windstorm. Hence the official translation as a Weasel's Claw, despite no weasel-inspired enemies appearing in any of the games. No so coincidentally, the Japanese name of the Elven Rapier's Vorpal Slash unleash is ウインドウィーゼル, the katakana spelling of the English words Wind Weasel.
