A Ninja Hood (くろずきん, Kurozukin?, lit. Black Hood) is a Hat-class piece of armor found in Golden Sun. Visually, the Ninja Hood resembles a grey piece of soft headwear surrounded in a blood-red aura.
In Golden Sun
In Golden Sun, the Ninja Hood is acquired randomly as a prize from Tolbi's Lucky Medal Fountain. Like all Spring Prizes, the player can potentially acquire multiple copies, though the amount is left to chance. As a hat, it can be worn by all Adepts.
The Ninja Hood is one of many pieces of equipment that can be won at Tolbi's spring and used to upgrade the party's equipment. Its fairly significant boost to Agility is quite useful to an Adept with a naturally low Speed rating. When comparing the Ninja Hood to the other two pieces of headwear, it is in-between the Adept's Helm and Glittering Tiara as far as Defensive power is concerned. Being one of the slower party members, Garet benefits more from the Ninja Hood, while Isaac benefits from the Adept's Helm, which allows him to better make use of Ragnarok. Likewise, Mia benefits more from the Ninja Hood's Agility increase, than from the Glittering Tiara's ability to inflict Delusion.
Because it is the only agility-boosting head-slot item in any game in the Golden Sun series and can only be acquired in the first game, the Ninja Hood is uniquely considerable as an item to include within the inventory of Isaac's party for the purpose of the password data transfer function. While the hood only offers a middling defense boost, its exclusive agility boost can be considered for specific party builds by even a late-game party in Golden Sun: The Lost Age. For example, it can provide a mass-healing, party-buffing, or status-clearing Adept the extra agility necessary to ensure that their supportive Psynergy or item usage will carry out before a normally faster offense-oriented ally can take their own action for the turn.
