The Frost Jewel (チルドのまがたま, Magatama of Chilled?) is a Utility Psynergy item featured in Golden Sun and, by extension, Golden Sun: The Lost Age. It bestows the Frost Psynergy, and it can convert small puddles of water into towering pillars of ice that can be hopped across.
The Frost Jewel is automatically granted to Isaac's party upon destroying the first Living Statue monster fought in Altin Peak. Even moreso than the Douse Drop, the Frost Jewel's presence in the party's available collection of Utility Psynergy-bestowing items is incidental in that it exists for the simple purpose of ensuring that the party has access to Frost as a Utility Psynergy regardless of the party's class setup. For some players, this is a moot point because Mia can use Frost while kept in her default Water Seer class series. However, it can serve a uniquely helpful purpose if it is placed in Isaac's inventory during the Colosso Finals because it will allow him to use Frost for the purposes of cheating without the need for Mia to be "cheering" at the particular stages where this can come into play.
As an item that Isaac's party is guaranteed to acquire in Golden Sun, he will have it in his inventory by the Reunion in The Lost Age regardless of whether the game's file has been enhanced with a Password beforehand. Its incidental relevance remains mostly the same.
The similarity in appearance this item has to the Ice Queen Stone in Dark Dawn -- which provides the Cold Snap Psynergy series that has effectively replaced the entire Frost series for the game -- seems to be more than coincidence. In fact, both essentially originated from within the same general area of the same mountain range; the Frost Jewel is found within the mines of Altin Peak in the Khiren Mountains in Golden Sun, and the Ice Queen Stone was retrieved from the mines of Passaj prior to Dark Dawn.
